    Description

Third-person shooters are similar to first-person games except that in them, you are able to see the protagonist in entirety performing the actions that you engineer. Alan Wake is a third-person psychological horror game. The game has been developed by Remedy Entertainment and has been published by Nordic Games. The game has been designed for the PC and also for the Xbox. Alan Wake 1.06 is the version released for the PC with Sam Lake and Mikko Rautalahti as its writers.

The game takes place in a fictional town near Washington called Bright Falls where bestselling thriller writer Alan Wake encounters a mysterious disappearance involving his wife. He finds that his wife has disappeared when on vacation to Bright Falls and also finds that whatever he wrote about in his latest book, is coming true. He finds it odd that he has no memory of writing the book from which all the events seem to come alive. Alan Wake is paced exactly like a thriller series on television. Every episode in the game and its story has twists in its plot and possible cliffhangers. Two special episodes in the game are available as DLCs which are The Signal and The Writer.

The game was under production for over five years, which in the gaming industry is a really long time. The ingenuous narrative of the game has had many positive reviews from critics all over for keeping the player fully engaged in gameplay. The main story revolves around a mysterious darkness that has taken over the residents of Bright Falls and turned them into monsters known simply as the Taken.

These enemies have a shield of darkness around them that acts as a protective armor. For them to take any amount of damage, the darkness infused shields have to first be burned away. The game environment provides many places where torches and fresh batteries for those torches are available. The player is also actively encouraged to use environmental light sources to keep the darkness away.

When standing under streetlights the player is impervious to attacks as the Taken cannot enter well lit areas of the game. This gives you the opportunity to regenerate health at a faster pace. Another major aspect of the game, connected to his amnesia about ever writing a novel called Departure is finding the manuscripts of the book scattered about the areas of Bright Falls. Alan Wake reads the events and plot twists in the book and is unable to remember writing it, even though he is aware that it is his own work that he holds in his hands. The Special Edition PC game Alan Wake received a PEGI rating of 16 for mild violence.

    Special Edition contains:

    • Alan Wake Game
    • 2 DLCs "The Writer" and "The Signal" Episodes inside the Game.
    • 8 Soundtrack CD

The above special edition contents are included inside the box.

It lives up to all the hype you may have seen on internet. It's a game you will want to play again and again. It makes you get horrifying dreams at night if you play the game in an environment like dark room,AC(temp enough to chill you). Do that and you will get thrilling experiences. Make sure no light enters the room.
    Awesome game. 100% recommended.

    The best psycho thriller yet

A game with a story that's bound to keep you hooked to the suspense - that's what Alan Wake is. You begin to like the character and bond with him by the end of the game.

A nice game if you're into books and fictional stories. Best played with an Xbox 360 controller.

    Only for survival horror fans

I have not finished it yet, but so far I am really happy for such a price.

Be aware you need a steam account to play btw.

And you need also a really good computer. I have a decent one, and I have to play in "low" spec. Since it comes from console, it is not very otpimized and only the real gamers pc can have the same quality as on xbox it seems.

The scenario is really good, the gameplay is a bit repetitive, but, hey, we did not have that much good survival horror lately.

    AWESOME GAME NO DOUBT

but there are a few complaints...for one, before installing, STEAM seems to download the entire game from the net. ehat is the point of getting the retail copy if that happens? we could have bought from steam itself where it releases months ago. i believe this is a fault from the developers.
As for the game itself, it'll feature in my 'top 5 of alltimes' list (p/s i have been an avid gamer for almost 2 decades now.)not only the game, but its music too is mindblowing. also flipkart's service i...

    Alan Wake (PC)

The PC version of the famous Alan wake by Microsoft Studios bring something new and a bit different.
The presentation of the game itself should be the selling point. Every chapter is presented as a new episode and every episode ends with a mind bending twist or revelation.
I was disappointed that it only had 5 chapters, but that does not mean that it's a short game. Every chapter (other than the first one) takes more than 90 minutes to complete, atleast it did for me because of my lame skills...

    Just gerenal views

First, the packaging is pathetic. Not the flipkart one but the gamebox packaging. No manuals nothing. Just 2 discs bouncing here and there. (Quite Sad - considering it was just released in February, 2012)

Secondly, those who are facing problems regarding steam update ( over 7 GB ), there are fre simple steps:

    1. Right click on the game in the library and select delete local content
    2. Exit Steam
    3. Insert the disc and open Run ( Win+R)
    4. Type "I:\Steam\Steam.exe" -install F: (if the Steam....

    Best story-driven game!!! A must-buy....!!

This game has a gripping story! Even non-horror games fans will LOVE this game! It's kind of an open-world game... you get to drive cars (at some points only; not like in GTA) and you get to shoot the "Taken" (the "zombies" with voice that keeps changing its pitch) which is awesome! Running at High settings with 30-50 FPS! Really, this game is one of its kind!
