    Description
The new novel by the author of The Alchemist. Aleph marks a return to Paulo Coelho's beginnings. In a frank and surprising personal story, one of the world's most beloved authors embarks on a remarkable and transformative journey of self- discovery. Facing a grave crisis of faith, and seeking a path of spiritual renewal and growth, Paulo decides to start over: to travel, to experiment, to reconnect with people and the world. On this journey through Europe, Africa, and Asia, he will again meet Hilal--the woman he loved 500 years before--an encounter that will initiate a mystical voyage through time and space, through past and present, in search of himself. Aleph is an encounter with our fears and our sins; a search for love and forgiveness, and the courage to confront the inevitable challenges of life.

    On a new Journey

first of all i would like to thank flipkart.com for the wonderful services rendered. keep up the good work guys.

    Now about the book.
well I'm no hardcore fan of Paulo Coelho but i must say, of all the books he's written i find this one to be the most the most inspiring save for "the alchemist".
i just got the book today and i already finished reading half of it.It's one of a kind.
It compels you to dive deep within yourself and ask your heart who you really are and what your existence mean ...

Not the best of Paulo coelho's work !!!

With great anticipation i bought the book by advance booking. Thanks to flipkart for its great service. But the book was not worth at all. This book has great resemblance to "Many Lives Many Masters". Both deal with reincarnation, re-birth. Not much punch dialogues, no great philosophy!! Paulo coelho's Alchemist, zahir, pilgrimage, fifth mountain, eleven minutes are classics. This book is no where nearer to those books !!
Though he fails to give his best this time he will always remain my fa...

I have loved his writing style but somehow could not get to complete this one. Did not find it gripping enough. Not to take anything from the author, perhaps I was not in a frame of mind to read this differently written book.
    The plot is certainly slow-paced.

    It is crap!!

The philosophy seems self-contradictory, and most of the statements seems like blabbering. Though some statements are really good and thought provoking. The story is boring and intolerable at times. Unlike previous books this doesn't have much of historical information. It seems the author wanted to share his inner-most fantasy of making love with a girl one-third of his age, hence wrote this novel. Few statements like "Time doesn't pass, it changes" is illogical and confusing.

    Disappointed...

Firstly.. thanks a lot to Flipkart for pulling me out of oldschool and making me order online. The way books are packaged and delivered is amazing...
coming to Aleph, I brought this book with great anticipation that it would be similar to Alchemist, but after reading I realized that my anticipation is wrong. This book is very different from other works of Paulo Coelho and is not at all close to reality. And, except Alchemist, most of the other books written by Paulo Coelho (including Aleph) c...

    A different experience

Paulo Coelho takes us into a different world through this book; a world of dreams, present, incarnations, parallel universes, etc. The book is an autobiographical account on his Trans-Siberian railway journey travelling across a continent with Hilal, a Turkish woman. Paulo talks in length about love and forgiveness. I would describe the theme of his expedition to discover himself in two words, “exotic spirituality”. I can’t corroborate whether I liked the book or not. Nonetheless, the book wa...

Shouldnt be the 1st of coelho's book you should be reading !

This was not the 1st book i read of paulo's and certainly not recommended to be the 1st book by paulo you should be reading.I have read alchemist before which was a master piece and so my expectations were pretty high when i ordered this book. But this book failed to live upto my expectation for obvious reasons. Its more of the personal journey of coelho realization of self and at some points fails to relate to you but i liked the way he puts in the fact that life is a journey and every step ...

Aleph is a beautifully written travel novel. It tells about the experience of a person in a very different way. Its about how he finds himself spiritually after many failed attempts over many lives. It also shows the relationship between love, faith and forgiveness. A book worth reading for everyone.
