  • Description
My name is Aisha Bhatia, I am twenty-nine years old and single. I work as a Guest Relations Manager at the Grand Orchid Hotel. I dine at luxury hotels and stay in five-stars during my travels; I can name old and new world wines with great elan, and can tell my cheeses apart. I tolerate my job, hate my boss, and bond big-time with my friends, while routinely suffering from umbilical cord whiplash. I don't really care for my vital stats at the moment, and I don't have a cute/funny nickname either. Hence this introduction: it stinks, but it sticks. In fact, sometimes I think there should be support groups like the AA out there for people like me. Wickedly irreverent and laugh-aloud funny, Almost Single is a delightful romp through the five-star world of champagne brunches, gay soirees, and the dilemmas of hip, young girls on the lookout for love and matrimony.

    Disappointing

Well do not get attracted by the summarization at the back. While reading you'll sense for sure that the author is confused about what to write. And it will surely test your patience. The plot is almost predictable.
She's the same Advaita Kala who wrote the movie Kahaani and you'll find it difficult to swallow the fact.
    A mustn't read !

    This woman punches without gloves..

Ok, it’s a chick-flick, but seriously for a single guy like me, life is not that that much different from a single girl in today’s urban india.

This is a book which talks about the travails of a single indian woman on the wrong side twenties in a metropolis. Its humorous, frank ,unabashed.

I have just seen a movie called Desi Boyz which I thought was about celebrating the free spirited young indian male, ala! what i experienced is pure dissappointment as it again started justifying the gu...

    good timepass

its a good chick-flick kinda read...wont compare it with literary pieces and serious writers as this book is not meant for that purpose...good read for a long journey as u can finish off this book in 3-4 days...easy to relate sequences, jargons, funny slangs, lifestyle of a typical single and independent gal living in a metro

29 and Single and going though a breakup? This one's for you girl.

Almost Single, a good morale booster initially for 'almost single' chicks, u get the drift? ;) As you turn pages the story weaves around 3 bff's and their 2 gay friends Ric and Nic. Of the three, Anushka being a divorcee happens to be the most sensible one helping out the other two with their perfect makeovers and being a shoulder to cry on during their lows ('Ugh! the guy was so not my type' phases). The second one, Misha, oh I can so totally relate to her, coz she too is vertically challeng...

    quite nice

though its pretty filmy and not extremely realistic, it's nice to read this one and keeps the reader stuck to the book. it showcases the insecurities and thoughts going on in the head of single women! enjoyable..

    Almost like me!

I read this book 3 years back, but so far I have read so many books, but this one's close to my heart. The story of a girl not married, professional, has a cosmopolitan life style and believes in Love. The story matches your life experiences so many times, that it often makes you feel nostalgic and re-live those moments. A Must Must read for all the girls.. Simply Kick A** !
