if u r buying this product at around 2k read this...
size of altec is about 65% of philips with a rubber coating which makes it feel very very handy...but on other side philips is bigger and a bit heavy than altec.
sound-philips is way better than altec...in loudness and ...

Feels great,little bulky,very last long battery around 7-8 hrs,good sound quality with no distortation however little bass noticed.

Loudness is great but I would recommend you not to go upto 100% volume.
Bass is pretty decent.
Sound quality is really nice, clean and clear. Though when no song is been played, it gives some kind of hiss sound which is too low so don't worry about it.
LED lights work good, buttons are easily accessible, you can play pause turn on off change tracks and change volume with three buttons only.

Build quality is very good. No fancy part around. Rubber like outer cover makes it more comfortable to hold.
I am not a audiophile, but still I feel that sound quality is decent at low or mid volume, but at highest volume, the smoothness is not there, compared to bose bluetooh speaker. But for the price tag, it is performing excellent, i would say.
Its max volume level is good enough to listen even from 3...
