  • Description

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon is a brilliant Pulitzer Prize winning adventurous novel, a superhero created by two comic-book artists in the story, saving the Nazi captives from their plight.

    Summary of the Book

Josef Kavalier escapes from Prague, which is seized by the Nazis. He moves to his cousin Samuel Klayman’s place, and becomes his dearest friend in no time. They discover each other’s artistic talents and decide to create a comic superhero, escapist. This becomes one of the most celebrated characters in the world of comics. This makes Joe keener on fighting the Nazis through his art. The story develops when Joe meets Rosa and how his intentions as a fighter have rather unfortunate, inhuman effects on his family. The book is filled with stark contrasts like war, love, hatred, struggle and such intense emotions. The originality in the creation of these characters and the most captivating way of storytelling has made the book a bestseller and an award winning novel. The novel has won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for fiction, and has made to the finals of the PEN/Faulkner Award.
