Developed by Beenox and published by Activision, this game follows Spider-Man as he looks for the person who killed his beloved Uncle Ben. This game features some of the most renowned villains from the Spider-Man universe, such as; Kraven the Hunter, Kingpin, Electro, Green Goblin, Carnage and Black Cat.
Having received a rating of 16 from PEGI, The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s gameplay has evolved considerably since its previous installment - The Amazing Spider-Man. This game is set in the city of Manhattan and showcases a marvelous open world environment where one can swing from building to building by using Spidey’s webs. The web-swinging mechanic has been enhanced; one can only swing along the course of the city if his web shot attaches itself to something material, unlike the previous game where one could just keep swinging even if there was nothing for the web to attach itself to. A new Hero or Menace system rewards the player with a good public image if he or she stops crimes, if he doesn’t he is seen as a villain by the masses. There are numerous costumes that can be equipped by the web-slinger, each of which gives a unique ability and can be upgraded. The player also gets to play as Peter Parker in a few missions, where one has to snoop around and do some detective work. An array of skills and combos have been given to Spider-Man in this game, and one cannot approach every villain with the same set of moves as they will fail. With loads of stealth-based attacks, unique web attacks and strategies that can be used, this game is a comic lover’s heaven.

Good Gaming experience
However there are few problems in this game.
1. Activision and Beenox have not put much time in creating side characters and extras espically street thugs and so on. The end result is that while playing if you are fighting a band of thugs many of them are the same character and it looks like they are twins. This spoiled the game a bit for me.

In this game, you play as the web-slinger himself, Peter Parker, as you go around town taking down bad guys. The action-packed game is a single player game and there is no multiplayer mode. The developers have done well to recreate Spiderman's lanky figure as well as his sense of humor.
This game is played in the third person, giving you the freedom to sling your way across the city effortlessly. There are a number of fighting moves, combos and special moves such as the Spidey Sense and evasive dodging. Battle against some of Spidey's feared nemeses like the Green Goblin and Electro.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for the Play Station 3 is rated Teen by ESRB due to the amount of punching and kicking you have to do while you are Spiderman. You will also come across gun dealers, mobsters and villains which are considered to be mild suggestive themes.
This game is available on the Play Station 3, allowing you to make use of the console's HDMI output. You can now play Spiderman using Dual Shock 3 wireless controllers in high definition as the Play Station 3 has an HDMI port. The game disc is blu-ray and can only be played on this gaming console.
