Summary of the Book
When Shadow is released from prison and heads home, the last thing he expects to see is the funeral of his wife. He’s even more shocked to discover that she had been sleeping with his best friend. He meets a mysterious man called Mr. Wednesday on the plane, and accepts a job as his bodyguard. Mr. Wednesday knows a lot more about Shadow’s life than he lets on, and for some reason, his friends seem to be stranger than he is. When he discovers that Mr. Wednesday is none other than the Norse God Odin, he realizes that he has gotten into matters more macabre than he can comprehend.
