Hello everybody, I am naga and from Hyderabad. Recently I have purchased this evo tv xl from reliance digital. Startup of the device is little bit slow. But it could play all the hd youtube videos nicely. But you should have high speed internet connection or if you have only 1 or 2mbps internet connection better use lan instead of wifi. Not the best value for money in the EvoTV line-up
I found the set-top box to be reasonably performant and played 1080p movies with ease. However the air remote--though a cool idea--constantly lost synchronization with the pointer on-screen. Furthermore the on-screen pointer frequently got stuck and stopped moving. This combination of problems, made the remote unusable and I ended up buying a wireless mouse (Logitech M185.)

Very good buy for the price-point, actually makes your TV a smart TV
Things have changed after the recent software update, hence changing the review.Earlier has given only two stars.

*Build quality is good. Can play most of the video formats.
*Works with analog televisions. I am actually using it on my old television.
* Has got very good customer service, recently my son dropped remote by mistake and I have got a brand new remote without any cost....

It is a great smart box that i have.

Easy to operate and a lot of fun with this box.

Features are good but performance lags .. no self service possible
Update: After 1.5 years of usage the device suddenly stopped booting ..
Had to go to the service center and though the service person were friendly, they charged Rs 550 just to format and re-install. I think this is just to much of a charge for the service like this.
Also there is no "try it yourself instructions" on the Amkette;s website, so that technical users can try formating themselves .. its not really a rocket science once the firmware and steps are provided for download !!! so chang...

Makes no sense if you have a SMART TV
I have a Panasonic TH-L42ET5D. Its a smart TV. And it did most things well. And so I still cant figure out why did I buy this Smart Box. I just got it now. I was so excited. I connected it and set it up. Setting up was a breeze. It detected my wifi network. But after that it was all a let down. I tried all different aspects for my TV Screen, yet the edges were always cut. Couldn't see the whole thing.

Slow and laggy
Please don't buy this item as it has a very slow and laggy interface. It takes too long to boot-up and read the USB storage connected to the device. Lacks the processing power to handle the most basic Android apps. There are no updates provide by the OEM either. Complete waste of money. You will be much better off buying cheaper media players (with or without Android OS)

I had bought Amektte Evo last year and connected to 15 Mb/s wifi internet. It takes a long time to boot, considerable time in screen movement and poor video quality. The Android version is old and needs upgrade to latest version. A low in-built memory cripples multiple applications and makes it practically impossible to run.
Is there any buy-back offer for upgrading to new version of this device available ?
