This book nearly covers the entire geometric modeling techniques using ANSYS Workbench. In the meshing techniques, aspects like geometry cleanup is skimmed thru on the basic level. Overall a decent buy.

Pros:
1. No need of ANSYS Workbench 14 itself, lower versions also (up to 12 or 11) can be used to try the tutorials.

Book is a Tutorial Approach and covers almost all basics of FEA, If you are a beginner then it is a good (not the best) book for anyone. Modeling and meshing part is described in detail but still it needed to add good tutorials based on different analysis.

I have read the book and have been pleased by the content of the book. It is a basic book for design and modelling enthusiasts. The book majorly covers the following parts of Ansys Workbench

Topics given above are taken care of in detail. The book uses a hands-on technique. You work on ANSYS WB while reading the book.

I thought this would cover the details of analysis that you can do with the software but major portion of the book was dedicated to the CAD stuff, which is of no use to the user having prior knowledge of any CAD software as the cad models can be imported and analysed (and ANSYS supports large variety of software). The section on Meshing and Analysis is OK but it would have been better if they have included more content on these topics.

It is a useful book for beginners. Good examples are provided for part modeling, meshing and analysis
