Convenient, but a tad cumbersome

If you're intending to use Apple TV primarily for AirPlay (audio or mirroring), please make sure you have a full dual band router. I learnt this the hard way. Also, don't forget to order an HDMI cable as well since there isn't one included with the device.

The device as it is, does exactly what you expect. It plays content from your itunes library, can stream content from a local computer's itunes library, can play media through it's built in apps and also mirror OSX (Mountain lion and later...

unknown problems with this box

i purchased it couple of weeks back and was expecting to use it primarily for mirroring my mac book pro onto the tv;

least did i know this expensive product will make me throw my hands up in the air and say i give up. the airplay wont work more than 20 mins at a stretch.

i tried to rule out router and broadband problems and i did.(i have the fastest consumer broadband speed available in my city and a very reliable n-router)

Must have incase you have an iPad/Iphone

I'm summarizing my review into Pros and Cons,

Pros:
1. Mirroring feature works like a charm.
2. Turns your normal HDTV to a Smart TV.
3. You tube.
4. Home sharing allows access to media over a WI-FI network.

Cons:
1. Everything linked to iTunes. Hence it supports limited video formats.
2. Mirroring feature is not compatible with non apple products.
3. It comes with limited Apps like You Tube, Vimeo, etc. No new Apps could be installed.

Bottom-line:
Taking into account of the above Pros...

Apple TV

I have been using Apple TV for almost a year now. I am satisfied with the performance. Higher bandwidth internet connection is preferable to enjoy most. 2 Mbps internet connection is not enough - there is frequent buffering. Had occasional issues of connecting other apple devices through airplay. Restarting the devices usually solved the problem.
Apple TV is extremely user friendly. The selection of new movies is limited on itunes store. Hopefully, it should improve over time. You can play y...

its a very good product for seamless integration between ur ipad,iphone,macbook and tv.but some things to be kept in mind before purchasing it.need to get hdmi cable as it is not provided by apple(cost app. 300/-) its better if ur router is in close vicinity to ur apple tv for seamless streaming.also make sure that ur router setting will be compatible with apple tv.i have a bsnl connection with tp-link modem/router which turned out to be incompatible and then i added a d-link router to it whi...

Got what was expected

Nothing much to write about additionally. Apple TV is a known product and features are well understood for people looking up for it. Of course it is meant for people already having a decent Apple ecosystem (iPhones, iPads, Macs). The mirroring works fine and so does the syncing with iCloud and iTunes.
The product was delivered on time and in perfect condition. It had the original receipt from iPlanet store.

Works very well..

I dont know about the others, but it working very nicely for me. I get 5 Mbps speed, which i think is sufficient for mirroring my macbook pro and ipod touch to the tv. It mirrors heavy apps and games very well. I suggest you check your wifi speed with with speedtest and buy it only if you get 4 mbps or above.

Amazing Product from Apple

1. Excellent delivery by flipkart, within 24 hrs.
