Summary of the Book

Satyajit Ray's Apu Trilogy has won much acclaim in the world of Bengali literature and film. Based on the works of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, these films tell the story of a young Bengali named Apu, in the early 20th century. The story is portrayed as a coming-of-age tale, and follows Apurba Kumar Roy from childhood to his adulthood where he becomes a writer. The movies directed by Satyajit Ray are considered some of the greatest films of all time and won three National Film Awards and seven awards from the Cannes, Berlin and Venice Film Festivals.
