A professor, author, poet and an intense lover of the English literature, Dr. Madhukar Wadikar presented a paper on the poet G.M. Hopkins at the IATEFL International Conference at Brighton, Sussex, England. On invitation from Browning Society, he participated in the Browning Commemoration Ceremony in 1995. A Distinguished Member of the International Society of Poets, Dr. Wadikar was presented the Editor’s Choice Award by the International Library of Poetry in 1997 for Outstanding Achievements in Poetry. His name has also occurred in Marquis Who’s Who in the World thrice, in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He has a Cambridge certificate saying that he is the outstanding speaker of the 20th century. He taught English Literature at the graduate and post-graduate levels for 38 years and was the Head of the Department of English in colleges in four Universities. He was a Ph.D. guide and Ph.D. examiner of Bombay, Jadhavpur and Sagar Universities.
