    Amazing artwork

The best thing about this graphic novel is its artwork. This is Dave Mckean at his best when he presents insanity on art. The storyline narration is not quite unique as it's been done before by Morroson's predecessor when they wrote about Batman from an observer's point of view. Yet Morrison takes the reader on a psychedelic roller-coaster ride on the darker side of the human mind.

The story adds another dimension to Joker's personality and gives a peep into his unique mind. Morrison however...

Read it for Arkham's story rather than Batman's

Being a huge fan of Batman, I was expecting this book to blow my mind away...but sadly it did not happen. I'm not saying the book is not good, its great and every Batman collector must(and I mean absolutely must) have this in their collection...but the greatest asset of this book is also sadly(according to me), its greatest weakness. Dave McKean is a great artist no doubt...but his artwork actually overpowers the plot and if you read the draft drawn by Grant Morrison...you will find that some...

    A short story

I do not read too many graphic novels, but yes I do have my fair collection of these and recently I went ahead and added this one to the collection. Honestly I m not too happy and I seriously was misled mostly by seeing so many 5 stars. It is not a bad comics, yes it's a comics and I don't think it can qualify for a graphic novel as the story is quite short and fits in roughly around 50-60 pages. Next time onwards I'll read the description section more carefully and would not base my purchase...

    Descend into the madness

In the Dark Knight literature, there are few stories that stand out - indeed, some go on the be canonical almost. But Grant Morrison's Arkham Asylum: A Serious Place on Serious Earth is beyond conventional accolades and appreciation. It is an LSD-induced treatment of the Dark Knight's mind and that of his nemeses: the inmates of Arkham.

Buyer beware, though. If you're into more conventional comics, like Year One, or Dark Knight Returns, be prepared to read a work of art which is chaotic bea...

Best graphic novel I've ever read for two reasons: writing and art.

I am hardcore fan of BATMAN, and This isn't your average WHACK! POW! comic book. In fact, there is almost no violence or glammed-out secret weapons. Grant Morrision takes us through a masterful exploration into the psyche of Bruce Wayne, a man who suffered a tragic loss at an early age and formed a very clear alternate identity. Is he a crime fighter, or does he suffer from MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder), and does it even matter.

Set in the halls of Arkham Aslyum, home to "inmates" like...
