Candles manufactured from soy wax are made with soy wax which is soybean From these flecks, oil is then extracted and hydrogenated. Unsaturated fatty acids present in the oil are saturated in the process, thereby significantly altering the melting point of the oil at room temperature, it then solidifies. Soy wax is extracted from vegetables (soybeans), whereas paraffin wax is derived from petroleum (a refined gasoline product). Soy wax is derived from a natural & renewable resource. Soy wax is biodegradable and plain old soap and water can be used to clean it up. Soy wax has a lower melting point compared to paraffin wax that makes soy candles burn slower and for a longer time. Soy wax burns with zero petro soot as compared to paraffin wax candles.
