Had the first 5 Km walk in it - no pains / strains! It has slightly tough cushioning since it is meant for trail / outdoor runs. I have slight wide foot and I find Asics a little cramped and next size feels better than the 'usual UK / India' size. A thin insole or thick socks helps with good all round grip. Overall, a very good buy. Being waterproof is a great add-on. Go for it.
Update after 10 Km walk in rain - shoe has good waterproofing. However, there is hardly any grip on WET smooth pave...

These are nice shoes for trail running and they're really good I feel nothing even I wore those for 50 hrs continuously. Better comfort and they absorb maximum pressure from the uneven terrain.
