The GT-II GORAIKO sneaker draws inspiration from the sunrise at Mt. Fuji and the walking sticks that travelers use to hike up the mountain. Preserving its original shape that the shoe featured in 1986, this heritage runner is constructed with buttery suede paneling and soft leather ASICS Stripes that are rendered with pastel hues to acknowledge the scenery's warm tones. The journeymen are also able to stop at various huts along the way to get different stamps to brand their walking sticks with, which is why we accented the heel with a design element that reflects this ritual. Additionally, the insoles are stamped with a graphic of the mountain and the rising sun itself. Complemented with an external heel counter above the midsole unit, this shoe also returns with the same tooling system and a layer of GEL technology cushioning for excellent shock absorption.
