Her writing focuses on a variety of esoteric and metaphysical subjects such as spirituality, infinite intelligence, and the power of thoughts.
Esther Hicks was born on March 5, 1948, in Coalville, Utah. She is the widow of Jerry Hicks. She  has one daughter, Tracy, from her first marriage.

Hicks lives in San Antonio, Texas.

Jerry Hicks was an Amway distributor, former circus performer, comedian, musician, and MC. He passed away on November 18, 2011.
