Not sure how this product has got these many good ratings. I had a Nexus 7 previously which I presented to a relative and thought of trying this as a replacement for it, a decision which I repent.

Had tried to return the device, but the seller has rejected the return request due to which I am stuck with this now. Planning to put this in Quikr/OLX.

Those who plan to buy this, I write this for you...

Cons: Poor performance, poor battery backup after a month of purchase, reboots ...

Very Febrile. This Fonepad with protective cover, display got damaged. Spares and service is very costly. It is not advisable to go for any ASUS product. The response I got from Digicomp Bangalore - which is the service center for ASUS is that "The price for display change is Rs 9,200/- instead you can buy a new one".
I have cancelled the buying of Asus Zenfone 5 & Zenfone 6 due to the high maintenance cost of this brand.
I understand the display of Samsung Tab costs only Rs 2000/- and this ...

My fonepad touch screen is broken. While I contacted to the service center in Chennai, they are asking for Rs.8k to 9k. When I asked for the reason, they said that they will replace full panel. But I am sure that is not required, only the touch screen can be replaced.

Asus has to improve this part then only they can get a good market in India. For a Rs.17k product no body will accept 10k repairing cost for a touch screen. My Case No. registered with Asus is A140717734.

After a week of use..

Pros :
Good Batter life 4000 amps batter does the trick.
Excellent standby (i saw just 1 % drain over night)
Good Cam
Front facing speaker.
video stand available in the box.
OTG even NTFS pendrive works.

Cons:
Heavy
glossy back both front and back attracts finger print.
dual core processor struggles at some tasks.
No headset in the box.
No HDMI.

Conclusion for the price point its a good deal.

The sound quality in dual speaker is quiet good,
The touche quality is quiet good,
The screen quality is quit good and impressive,
The main point ..
Asphalt 8 lags in high setting . so gamers go for nexus .
The audio quality of the phone is poor . but then who uses a oversized phone to talk and make fun of himself , using bluetooth solves the issue .

go for it.............i m using this fonepad from last 4 months and i have got 2 updates for it of which yesterday night i got update of android 4.4.2 kitkat which working very nicely on my tab. i m very satisfied for such service from asus and expecting that their service will not degrade from which we are getting now.......please go for it.

Asus (Sonic master sound) is really pathetic the rest of the features are good. I've tried adding many good quality videos that even then sound is very very bad and even the headsets aren't good

It is not easy to get the SIM in and out. Cannot play music over Bluetooth. Only calls get through BT channel.

I was looking out for a mid-range calling tablet which could also be used as phone. I found ASUS Fonepad to be a good option. I have used this for over a month from now. No issues till now.
Overall a good product.

I purchased this tab in april 2014. This has an awesome battery with a decent camera. Feels a bit heavy in hands. The Intel atom processor is a pro.
Calling facility is cumbersome otherwise everything about it is awesome...
