  • Description
Aurangzeb Alamgir (r. 1658-1707), the sixth Mughal emperor, is widely reviled in India today. Hindu hater, murderer and religious zealot are just a handful of the modern caricatures of this maligned ruler. While many continue to accept the storyline peddled by colonial-era thinkers-that Aurangzeb, a Muslim, was a Hindu-loathing bigot-there is an untold side to him as a man who strove to be a just, worthy Indian king. In this bold and captivating biography, Audrey Truschke enters the public debate with a fresh look at the controversial Mughal emperor.

    Must buy!

An illuminating work in depth and brief. You would be in a flow while reading this masterpiece.
The writer does justice to the most unjustified man of today's era Aurangzeb!
It is to be understood that the medival India was to be affected by proverbs like "ya takht ya tagoot" !
Aurangzeb was a ruler of his times and he ruled the way he could have. Not all of his choices were his own but the circumstances!
But he was a millitary and administrative genius.

Its listed in Non Fiction Genre, which is completely wrong.

This is just a propaganda attempt by the author who must be funded by Saudi Arabia and/or Pakistan. This is a sinister attempt to distort Indian as well as Sikh history. This book and its author should be boycotted and Flipkart should remove books like these from their market place as books like these justify and glorify communal violence done by Tyrants in the past.
