This is a soil moisture sensor module, also known as the HW-080 or FC-28, used to detect the water content in soil. The kit consists of a fork-shaped sensor probe with two conductive legs that are inserted into the soil, a small blue control board that processes the signal, and jumper wires to connect the two. The probe works by measuring the resistance between its two legs, as wet soil conducts electricity better and has lower resistance while dry soil has higher resistance. The blue control board outputs both a digital signal that goes HIGH when the soil is dry, and an analog signal that gives a range of values based on the exact moisture level. It also has a built-in potentiometer to adjust the sensitivity threshold for the digital output. This module runs on 3.3V or 5V and is commonly used with microcontrollers like Arduino or ESP32 for projects like automatic plant watering systems and smart gardens
