A blatant torture on our taste, culture and film tradition

"Baishe Shravan" is a very inept attempt by a pretentious person with ambition but no gift for making a film. The film is a failed copy of "The Stoneman Murders", a superb film in Hindi with a very impressive story line, well designed plot and an excellent conclusion. Srijit Mukherjee is a shameless Director without the least education to be a film director (not to speak of formal education) and minimum courtesy to acknowledge source. He does not know that there can not be any punishment wort...

Tremendously Balanced

The Movie is one of the best thriller in in India; Must watch, the story keeps you attached till the end. After watching this you may feel it's worth;

Actors played superb role; Prasenjit's the best performance... never imagined he could go by this extent, though a glimpse was seen in Autograph!!! But Baishe Shrabon an Epic Thriller

Poetry, love, and murder!

There are certain iconic images and notions that are traditionally identified with the quintessentially "Bong". They include poetry & song, romantic ideas, and stories about crime & detection (Feluda and Byomkesh have entered our DNA for good, at least in our love for murder-mysteris). This movei, released during the Durga Puja festivities in 2011, became an instant hit, because despite handling certain 'taboo' items in terms of subject & language, it had a generous mixing of all these 3 elem...

Great Movie, superb plot, the most gripping suspense story ever!!

Very gripping and sharp plot, superb acting by Prosenjit and Goutam, very good direction and cinematography of Kolkata's dark alleys. A tollywood movie which can outshine any bollywood movie. A edge-of-the seat murder mystery, a must watch and must buy kind of stuff.

A good Bengali Film

I liked it. The Acting was good. The whole treatment was above any Bengali film. The Director kept the suspense, till the end. But the melodrama could have been filtered a bit. Musics were good.Photography was also very good.But the dialog could have been more refined, unnecessary slang could have been filtered.

A thriller in it's own league in regional Indian cinema

as the plot unfolds with a gradual but engaging deliciousness, the viewer would find herself through a mix of high and low of emotion, culminating in the ultimate ending to it. Brilliant blend of the music and a very innovative use of the long applauded but seldom explored legacy of Bengal's literary genius..

very disappointing and tasteless

quite a disappointing film! though prosenjit's character was fine, why he was killing innocent people to take revenge on the police force, beat me! that was outright silly. and the use of slangs seemed more to surprise and titillate than needed! raima was wasted! does an educated IPS officer talk like that to his girl friend! the songs were the only saving grace! much-hyped film, but utter crap!
