Summary Of The Book
GRE or Graduate Record Examination is a standardized examination which should be taken by students looking to get admissions at graduate schools in the US and some other countries. This exam assesses students in various areas like analytical writing, quantitative and verbal reasoning, and critical thinking. A student's GRE score plays a very significant role in acquiring admissions and other scholarships or fellowships. Hence, a great deal of effort and groundwork goes into preparing for the GRE.
The book is completely in line with the new syllabus and includes a large number of problems and exercises. It also comes with a CD-ROM which features a simulation of the original test and two sample tests. This simulation provides a first-hand feel of the test and gives students an idea of what awaits them.
This latest edition of the book covers the GRE syllabus in five parts. The first part begins with an introductory chapter which explains the basic details of the test, it's objectives and other formalities. The rest of this part includes a guided tour on the computer based test, test format, tips and tricks to answering questions, and the diagnostic test. This test has been solved with answers explained. In part 2, the book covers linguistic topics like Sentence Completion, Verbal Ability and Reading and Comprehension. Part 3 tackles Analytical Writing and Essay Writing.
The fourth part addresses Quantitative Ability and covers Quantitative Comparison Questions and Discrete Quantitative Questions.
With its exercises revamped to go with the new pattern and the tests at the end of every part, Barron's New GRE: The Leader In Test Preparation 2013 (With CD-ROM) aims to fully enable GRE aspirants for better performance and higher scores.
