    The book is divided into 2 parts. The first part deals with Electrical Engineering, and the second part provides a detailed study of Electronics Engineering. Apart from this, there are separate chapters where the authors deal with Principles of Transducers, Digital Systems, Telecommunication, Information Technology, and Control Systems.

    The book helps the new students of engineering understand the basic principles and theories. All these theories and principles are explained in great detail, making it easy for the students to understand. The authors have also included solved problems, practice problems and objective questions. A lot of numerical problems have also been included, with answers.

    Sukhija and Nagsarkar have also included numerical problems at the end of each chapter. This makes understanding and revising each topic covered in the chapter, easy.

    About The Authors

    M. S. Sukhija is a teacher, educational consultant, and author. Other books written by him and Nagsarkar include Basic Electrical Engineering, Power System Analysis and Networks: Analysis, Design, and Synthesis. He did his Phd from Punjab Engineering College. He is the principal of Karnataka’s Guru Nanak Dev Engineering college, and has taught many undergraduate and graduate students for years. Dr. Sukhija was also Director of Educational Consultants India Ltd., where he handled several national and international level educational projects.

    T. K. Nagsarkar is a teacher, author and consultant. He is an IIT Kharagpur alumni, who also completed his Phd from Punjab University, taught for nearly 34 years before retiring as Head of the Department and Professor of Electrical Engineering at Punjab Engineering College. Many of his papers have been published in Indian and International Journals. He has over 30 years of experience in teaching, consulting and research.

    A good book but too theoretical.

    It is a good book but better books are in the market. Papers are crisp, binding is good and printing is above average but it is too theoretical. May be good to pass the examination but engineering is not only theoretical. Not a single picture of the any AC. machines describing the parts and construction, just one or two picture. But again our syllabus is like that. If you want to learn the subject please try another book.
