Basic Electrical Engineering is about the basic concepts of electrical engineering and other fundamental aspects. Application based concepts of circuitry, power generation, machine control and distribution are highlighted in the book.
Basic Electrical Engineering also discusses transformers and their operations in a comprehensive manner. There are chapters which have been extensively revised and these include chapters on induction motors of both three phase and single phase motors. There are new chapters that deal with the testing of DC machines, the three phase alternator and electromechanical energy conversion.

About The Authors
V. N. Mittle is a former professor.
Other books written by him are Experimentation and Viva-voce on Electrical Machines and Design of Electrical Machines.
Mittle is a graduate of Birla Institute of Technology and Science and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering. He also holds a postgraduate degree and a Ph.D from College of Engineering, and IIT, Roorkee, respectively. He taught undergraduate students for over 35 years.
Arvind Mittal is an assistant professor at MANIT.
Mittal has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students for over 13 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from MANIT and a postgraduate degree from IIT, Roorkee. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers and ISTE.
