    Description

Batman: A Death in the Family is another addition to the exciting Batman comic book series.

    Summary Of The Book

Batman: A Death in the Family marks the return of the Joker. In the initial pages, Jason Todd and Bruce Wayne are carrying out an investigation during which Jason behaves too impatiently and attacks the criminals. Enraged by his foolishness, Bruce relieves Jason of his duties and enquires about his family. However, Jason is too angry to have this conversation and walks out on Bruce.

On his way home, he meets a neighbour who hands him a box containing a few of his father’s belongings. Inside the box he discovers a shocking secret about his life. Elsewhere, it is found that the Joker has escaped from the asylum and is killing people yet again using a nuclear weapon. When Batman learns of his whereabouts, he sets out to track him and destroy him. There he meets Jason, who is on a mission of his own.

The book portrays Jason as an inconsiderate youth and shows how he often chooses to ignore instructions. Along the way, he learns a few life lessons when he makes a reckless decision involving the Joker. Batman: A Death in the Family was published between December 1988 and January 1989. It had a special feature wherein readers got to decide how the story would end. Their decision sealed the fate of Robin, Batman’s sidekick.
