Nothing unusual about this for BB, who likes a good fight. Except that he and Bhagath had been classmates and friends at college.

What follows is a roller-coaster voyage of the debutant author and his book, with all its twists and cul-de-sacs. Brushes with publishers, celebrities, retailers, book chains, and competition with the alliances among giants, mark the challengers journey, upping the stakes at every stage. Will BB catch up with his famous friend? What will their encounter be like?Written from inside the ring, Beaten by Bhagath is a gripping tale the first-ever about the unseen side of the wonderland of Indian fiction.

    A writer's pain

I think 'Beaten By Bhagath!' is a book which can scare off a lot of aspiring authors. What's interesting is- we get to see how a man is punched, pummeled, pushed till his back hits the wall and cannot help but admire the authors who actually 'make it' in the Indian publishing jungle. An author puts his sweat and blood into a book, nurtures it with love and care, watches with affectionate eyes as his baby grows up. Only to have it all dashed by an insensitive and callous publishing machinery wh...

Beaten By Bhagath! - Pleasant Read.

Often we wish we could take on the world with our passion and not with our 9-5 job. Many of us do follow the dream to make it a reality. Success, though, comes to not many.
"Beaten By Bhagath" is about a man's passion to make it big with his writing, albeit a result of his ego and encouraging line from his sexy lady boss, he wants to overthrow the big name K-10; a celebrity author and his friend. Its about the dramatic roller-coaster ride of a debutante writer and his book.

    There were times...

    BB !

If there were movies which gave you an insight about the struggle of an actor/actress and the happenings in the film industry, then Beaten by Bhagath! A Tale of Two Writers by S.V. Divvaakar is an eye opener about the struggle of an author who wants to create a mark with the power of his pen writing words that can create an impact in a reader's mind.

    Authors hard work

The story is completely related to the authors who will keep their best efforts at the time of publishing their first book and what are the tasks involved in it and hindrances they face ,mall practices in market .I strongly suggest every book lover to read this book as they can know pain and risks of author .In the same time author-S.V.Divvaakar had narrated the story in wonderful way so each and every line is anxiety .He used all the best characters like his wife Indira ,brother etc

    An eye-opener for aspiring writers

I am done reading this book in just 3 hours. Its an amazing tale as to how a man working ordinarily in a company dreams of becoming a great and bestseller author. And lately, how he has to face all the rejections, fraud and complexities in life. I, being in this industry for some 2 years, found the book quite realistic. I would say hats off to the writer for attempting something that's risky. And I also liked the little humour thats imbibed in the book. Good work. Though little bit of turn of...

    A Page-Turner

How does a failed debut – whether a first movie or a first album or a first book feel? Believe me, it is as traumatic a feeling as when your first –born is consigned to the incubator and brought out only to be taken to a final resting place.

Beaten by Bhagath is a very honest book which one rarely comes across. This book is not written just for grabbing eyeballs and that is what makes it a very unique and different book. It’s a gripping read with some mind boggling facts about the publishing...

    Nice for light reading

Nice book that i would recommend to budding writers out there. The author has smartly weaved a tale of struggling author with good doses of humour in his story. There are certain slangs used by the author that i feel could have been avoided. The end seems a little dragged. Can be read once!

Beaten by Bhagath!: A Tale of Two Writers- Review

Sometimes, we all tend to get onto a path which we have never trodden upon. Call it the Road Not Taken if you will. This path is not necessarily something we want, but is a figment of our imagination, influenced by millions of external factors; befuddling us and making us take it up. It may or may not lead us to success, but definitely leads to one thing: getting hurt. Welcome to the world of BB, a debutant author, out on a journey to make his book a best-seller.

This 191 paged novel is Divv...
