Sylvia Nasar is an American economist, professor, author, and public speaker. She is of German origin.
Her written works include Grand Pursuit: The Story of Economic Genius, and A Beautiful Mind: The Life Of Mathematical Genius and Nobel Laureate John Nash.
Nasar was born on August 27, 1947, in Rosenheim, Germany. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Literature from Antioch College. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Economics from New York University. Her writing has won her various awards and honours, including a Pulitzer Prize nomination (1998), the National Book Critics Circle Award for biography (1998), and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize (2011).
