This Belkin network Router is virtually a Plug and Play device, and can be configured on your system in three easy steps. You can connect up to 250 PCs to this Router and expect a seamless Internet experience. The device comes with a series of security features to ensure the protection of your network from Internet threats like scamming, phishing or virus attacks.

Design

The Belkin Play Max sports a sleek lightweight blackish grey chassis with smooth curving edges. This futuristic design lets you place it vertically, adding to its stylish appearance. One of the corners of the networking gear is carved out into a slant, where two LED indicators are situated. These detect the network status and the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) status of your Router. The WPS status indicator is underneath a small push button that helps establish a secure connection between your Router and other WPS-enabled Wi-Fi devices. There are four LAN ports, 1 WAN port and two USB 2.0 ports embedded along the side of the Router.

The USB 2.0 ports enable you to connect and share a USB hard drive or flash drive and share music and other files with other computers and devices within your network. You can also connect a printer and print documents from any system across your network, saving you the trouble of coming back to just one computer for print outs.

Connectivity and Security

This Belkin Router supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wireless standards, giving you maximum Internet speed of up to 300 Mbps. The Router offers a bandwidth of 20 MHz and 20/40 MHz auto on a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band. This allows the Router to connect to the Internet on different channels depending on the traffic from other networks connected to the Internet.

The Router has Dual-plane in-built antennae that are designed on the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology. This advanced technology proves beneficial in providing three-dimensional consistent network coverage. This 3D technology lets the signal remain hassle-free as it provides coverage for consistent signal, even through walls and floors.

The Router utilises Network Address Translation (NAT) engineering letting you share a single Internet Protocol address across your network. This Router assures you the security of your network from Internet-related threats through a series of firewall like WPA, WPA2 encryption, and WPS 256-bit, 64-bit, 128-bit WEP.

Features

This Play Max Router comes integrated with a series of applications to ease your Internet downloads and uploads. The Router is equipped with Torrent Genie App for downloading large files like movies. The Bit Boost app lets you select and prioritise your most important data streams for seamless network traffic.

For listening to music, you can use the Music Mover App that enables you to play tracks from your library. You can also connect an external hard drive and move the music from your computer to your stereo through devices like Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. The Belkin Router also has some more music features like the Daily DJ and Music Labeler apps that help you explore music on the Internet.

The Print Genie application helps you print documents from any corner within the network, and from any system connected to your wireless router. A special feature of this Router is that the device comes pre-installed with a Self-Healing Application which automatically detects and resolves network problems and also runs regular scans to give you a seamless wireless connection. Furthermore, the Belkin Play Max Router comes equipped with PPTP and IPSec VPN pass-through to communicate within your network.
