Summary of the Book
Bhutnath, the mysterious, avaricious ‘ayyar’ with a magical dagger, was introduced in Khatri’s Chandrakanta Santati. His character was so significant in the story that there followed a separate book on him, which is Bhutnath. Devaki Nandan Khatri wrote only six parts of the book, and his son, Durga Prasad Khatri, subsequently compiled the concluding volumes, calling the saga, Rohtasmath.
About Devaki Nandan Khatri
Devaki Nandan Khatri was an Indian author who was one of the pioneers of novel-writing in the modern Hindi language. He was the first author of mystery novels and was also called Babu Devakinandan Khatri. Some of his most notable works are Chandrakanta, Kajar ki Kothari, Kusum Kumari, Virendra Veer and Katora Bhar Khoon.
