Bihari Satsai (Chuni Hui Rachnaayein) presents selected Hindi couplets written by the 17th-century poet, Bihari.
Summary of the Book
Satasai or Satsai means 'seven hundred verses'. The verses are originally compiled in the Braj Bhasha dialect of Hindi spoken in the Braj region of northern India. This collection contains the most romantic verses compiled by Bihari, most of them based on his real-life experiences. Bihari Satsai was conceived as a poet’s need to impress his Raja and a state’s need to have its king back from the morass of carnal pleasure.
