Both me and my daughter have read this book and we loved it. Its good for those who have already read a few books with simpler language like Noddy. The simplicity of emotions and the description of the hills and the natural landscape is wonderful. The emotions of the little girl tugs at your heart.

This is a meaningful story.The author Ruskind Bond has magic in this story .he clears the situation of each and every part of this story.Biny's politeness and her sacrifice makes the story more lively and interesting .The most valuable and heart touching part of the story is--The part where Binya gave her umbrella to Ram Bhorosa even after knowing that he tried to steal it from her.This is really a nice part of this story.

It is heart touching story. Simple, short, but really nice.
This book is very good for even kids of age group 8 yrs ahead.

This story is about the village girl who got the blue umbrella from lady from town. Later some old village person become greedy for this umbrella. We all in our life become greedy on some or another moment of life.

The story demonstrate very effectively the meaning of relations, forgiveness and the pleasure that you get out of it.

Its a good narration for the least numbered characters in the story. Made me to flow along with the words.....

Its a Ruskin Bond for starters. Its a very small/short book, makes for a good quick read. Good for kids who have just started reading. I am not sure if this story is a part of any of his short story collection. And Flipkart delivered it promptly as usual.

This is my first book by Ruskin Bond. I have read abt him as a perfect author of raconteur. The blue umbrella exemplifies just that. I cursed I did not read this book before. Though it may be seen as kiddie book, there is a wonderful message even for 'so called' grownups. The backdrop in which the story is setup is so heartening to read in this fast paced world
