Learn to run like the wind

Running keeps us in close touch with the way we're meant to be. The more you run, your body gets in great shape, becomes resilient while the stride becomes a wondrous rhythm.

It is competition or a means to an end (fitness, weight management, cardio, etc.,) to most people. However, if you run for the love of running, and want to know more about people who love running, how they live running style, their attitude towards what we perceive as pain and suffering, if you want to re-learn a long f...

Excellent Read

I was recommended 'Born to Run' by friends who are runners... or rather I was present when they discussed this book that was supposedly amazing. I myself have tried to run on and off for the last many years, always stopping when my motivation levels drop due to the pain that running actually is - versus this romanticised meditative sporting activity that it is supposed to be.

And thats what grabbed me about the book when I began reading. This was about someone who 'wants to like running'- bu...

Inspirational and fun read

This book is an absolute must read for all current and aspiring long distance runners. Its a fast paced, well written book on the joys of running! It reads more like a personal odyssey as opposed to a typical book on running. Entertaining, informative and inspirational!

Born to Run

This is an excellent book about the Tarahumara people, a remote Mexican tribe who run amazing distances for just a little more than the sheer fun of running. The author gives a vivid account of his journey to locate and contact the tribe in order to learn and compete with them. Another interesting facet of the book is the authors exploration of the possible evolutionary origins of our distance running capabilities. A highly recommended read to anyone interested in running and looking for d...

Mind-blowing purchase

A friend of mine gave me this book and it was so awe inspiring that i ordered it for m personal collection.
Christopher McDougall has not only written it beautiful but also discussed the correct techniques of running and how high end shoes have actually ruined running for us.

He talks in detail about the running freaks(with all due respect) who know no boundaries to best of ultra-marathons to Raramuri tribe(The running people) to barefoot running
A must have book for anyone who is intereste...

Must Read for Passionate Runners

At the outset let me say it, after reading this book, you will not look at the running the way that you used to. However, let me also add in the same breath, this book can be read by anybody and once you do I am sure you will get motivated to get out there and RUN!

The book primarily showcases a 50 mile race in the Copper Canyons of North Mexico and the Tarahumara tribe of Indians that lives there. For the Tarahumara running is a way of life. The author Christopher McDougall also participate...

One of the best ones you'll ever read!

One of the rare books where the author is able to mix humor with knowledge without preaching about his beliefs! This is a book that can be read by a non runner as well. Although, for runners, if you are expecting a detailed, in-depth analysis of barefoot running this wont give you the scientific insight that you might expect. It has bits and pieces of the same, but not a comprehensive coverage of the sciences involved.
Do read if you want to get a kick out of your running.

Note: The print i...
