BOYA BY-M800 is a large cardioid diaphragm condenser microphone with a smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response, it’s perfect for for vocal and general instrument capturing in project and professional studio environments. It's featured with a cardioid pattern rejects off-axis sound,-10dB switch and 2-position low-cut filter switch. The microphone is with all sturdy metal construction housing design, and uses standard 24V or 48V phantom power, which is supplied through the standard XLR connector. A shockmount, pop filter, and 3m(10ft) case are all included.

Just wow!
This is my initial review as I am still to use it full fledged. My initial impression is WOW!. At the price that I have received, it is a steal!. Very bright at the highs, very clear recordings, the low pass filter works very well for my bassy vocals. The pop filter is very useful and does the job well. The only small issue is that, it's difficult to mount the whole assembly on the boom stand and the mic needs to be removed to keep the mounting operations easy and for safeguard of mic. Overal...

A:You will need phantom power (24/48 VDC) to power up this mic. For recording vocals you will either need a mixer or an Audio Interface. On laptop you will need to have a recording sw like Audacity.
