When breath becomes air is a beautiful and heartbreaking memoir of Dr.Paul Kalanithi.This is,without doubt,a masterpiece from him.And I was actually surprised to find that this is the only book written by him.He reached such heights within a short period of time,but life is unpredictable.His life is a great example of that.He had everything written out in front of him,even his future for the next 40 years,but he never saw this comi...

I was bereaved recently and finished reading this book after my wife passed away due to complications from cancer.

Sadly, she had read the book a few months before me and I realized that Dr. Kalanithi's last struggles with breathing were to be eerily replicated in her last days. I realized that the composure she had and the decisions she made were largely due to Dr. Kalanithi's own composure and dignity in his last days.

I would unreservedly recommend this book

Excellent reading account of a neurosurgeon fighting death on account of cancer. it inspires you to keep doing right tings till the last moment as doctor Paul keeps working till the end in the face of death

Awesome book to read... In a sense very gripping and deeply affecting. Really loved the short medical cases mentioned in between. A must read for a bibliophilic medico. Books takes the reader pretty well deep in to the authors thoughts and feelings about life, it's meaning and the ultimate truth which lies in it.. Which is death.

If you are a medical student and want to read some books , this one is a must read.The connection between life , death and the meaning in between has been explored by Dr.Paul.He talks about interesting topics like doctor patient interaction , cadaver dissection , humanity and his journey in the field of neurosurgery,which amazes the reader.A gem of a book.

A book bent on teaching life and the value of time... The book is a sure page-turner with choice of words that are just right everywhere... So moving, disturbing and pathetic to see how life dances to the tune of fate... Awesome... Recommended reading for anyone who wants to value everything and everyone and in due course learn what humility is...
