For thousands of years, Buddhism has preached the belief that everyone is a Buddha or an enlightened one and has the potential to find true and everlasting joy. Citing from their own life experiences, the authors in their book, The Buddha In Your Mirror: Practical Buddhism And The Search For Self, show the readers the positive effects on their health, career and relationships that can be had by uncovering this jewel of true inner happiness.

    Summary Of The Book

While the belief that people can find true happiness within themselves is taking the world by storm, Buddhism has preached this for over centuries. It requires a person to tap into the source of happiness which would have a profound effect on every sphere of their life.

The Buddha In Your Mirror: Practical Buddhism And The Search For Self is backed by each of the author's over 25 years of experience in practicing and teaching Nichiren Buddhism  and also shows the reader ways to unravel the hidden wisdom of finding true joy and using that to change their life.

Written in a clear and easy to understand manner, the book takes the reader through the teachings of Nichiren, a 13th century Buddhist educator and reformer from Japan. His teachings are based on the Lotus Sutra considered to be Shakyamuni's highest teaching. It details a way by which an individual can attain enlightenment by not renouncing the real world.

The book presents to the reader, in a modern avatar, the ancient teachings of Nichiren by which they can hope to see profound positive changes in their relationships, career and health. In addition, it can also help them get a new perspective on the issues plaguing today’s world. The book is a practical guide for those dealing with everyday problems and who do not have the time or inclination to visit spiritual retreats in search for solutions.

The Buddha In Your Mirror: Practical Buddhism And The Search For Self was listed on The Boston Globe Bestseller List in 2001.

Wonderful! Easy Read. Ideal Introduction to Nichiren Buddhism

This is by far the BEST book written on the philosophy and practice of Nichiren Buddhism in daily life. Even if you are not practicing, topics like Death, Relationships That Work, and Happiness are something you will not only relate to, and more importantly transform your perceptions of having studied through this book. Herbie Hancock's piece is more than enthralling. I've bought this book several times over, and shared it with family, friends, and acquaintances. It will improve your life and...

Best book on Practical Nichiren Buddhism

Nichiren Buddhism is based on chanting nam myoho renge kyo and the ten worlds, apart from the obvious teachings of Buddha. This book gives straight-forward introduction and practical advice on how to practice the Buddhism of Nichiren. You are sure to see change in your lives by the time you read Chapter 2 'the practice'. This book is also a best-seller on Amazon so I don't see a reason why it shouldn't do the same here in India on Flipkart !
