This book was first printed almost 5 years ago, so it talks about the Frameworks popular at that time. But it is solid and the read is really worth. It helps you to understand the difference between 3 major frameworks, and lets you decide which one is best suited for your project or idea or startup.

Few minus points of book

A) The book is based on Symfony 1.4, ZF 1.10 and CakePHP 1.x while current latest versions are Symfony 2.4.2, CakePHP 2.4.6 and ZF 2.3.0. So, it covers old versions

B) There is a huge difference in 1.x and 2.x versions of these frameworks so none of the example for old versions will going to work in newer versions without lot of changes.

C) Very hard for those who are learning frameworks for first time

D) Topics not clearly explained

I will serious not recommend ...

dnt buy this book... bas dnt buy.. from 3 year i am using php.. this book shaked all my concepts... dnt buy. even u are beginner or expert. dnt buk this book i beg , dnt destroy the world of technology...

this book is ok if you are expert of php framework then this will work as reference material for me this book works as reference material but not recomended for newbie

great book for beginner.well organized ,simple ,having multiple examples...can buy it if you want to develop your website using cake php or zend or symfony............................................................................................................................................................................................
