Nothing like a good thriller to keep the bones warm, as it rains outside. Nothing better when it is set against a backdrop of corporate mayhem and drugs and a lot of action and adventure. There is also, but of course, a lot of blood.

Business Doctors is a thriller and lives up to the genre in more than one way. An Ivy League educated consultant, Michael Schneider gets hired by a client that no one can think of and the story begins at an astounding pace.

Sameers writing is simple and easy to understand and that is one of the highlights of the book. The plot is taut and simple. A perfect read for a great monsoon evening.

    An interesting and different book

At times, I felt like I was reading a John Grisham novel- and I mean this as a compliment. The material appeared well researched and the plot was simple yet quite interesting to follow. Having a fair idea about consulting, it was fun to see those principles applied in such a different setting. Though it made me wonder how the author came to know so much about the workings of mob !!! :P

Overall, I would recommend this book if you are looking for something different to read. For those with no ...

Grab the intensity...Business Doctors have arrived!

A different kind of book with a different title. People will be attracted for its attention seeking title - Business Doctors!

I finished this high velocity novel in just 5 days flat and, a priori I am a slow reader. Sameer has hit the nerve of the under-world and the management-consulting-world with a heart wreaking story, which will not let you keep down the book. He has been extremely meticulous in describing the details of the ambience, till the level you can picture the location with the...

    New thinking, interesting plot

If you thought management consulting is only for corporate, you're mistaken. It can help an underworld don, as much as it can help a fortune 500 client.

In this book, Sameer Kamat takes you through an interesting approach of how few management consultants go about fixing a mafia organization which is loosing money big time.

The plot is fairly different compared to other corporate fictions, hence it is very entertaining to read.

I would have appreciated a parallel track from a law enforceme...

    A light and fun read.

Let me begin by saying what I’ve already said once, full marks for the unique plot. When so many new and old authors in India are trying to milk the same old cow of romantic stories (Guilty as charged!), Sameer not only finds an entirely different plot in the field of his expertise, but makes sure it is an engaging one as well. Which brings me to my next point, the language is lucid and there were hardly any points where I felt disconnected. If you’re a fan of humor like me, you’ll surely lik...

    Bravo ! Bravo ! Bravo !

When I started reading it, I was really impressed by the plot of the book. It is about how a struggling consulting firm is approached by an underworld don Woody, who runs various illegal businesses under the name WFB, to help him keep his company afloat and make it more profitable. The book nicely explains how a consultant, Schneider and his partner, Martin, approach the assignment right from doing research work, to understanding the problems to coming up with a solution.

    But somewhere in th...

Business Doctors will seriously make you visit one ! -_-

This book isn't one if you are trying to sneak peek into a day in the lives of Management Consultants. The vocabularies used here will make you sit with a dictionary alongside this crap. I still have no idea what conclusion or image the book draws but the plots and the scripts are indeed quite haphazard. I regret the same amount of time spend on Quora or Google would have lead to a better conclusion on MCs.
I guess this must have been a Dream plot for the authors, which looks like way shatte...

    One of a kind

I had never imagines that something as complex as business consulting could be readable, let alone mixed with the ‘Mafia’. But the author managed to mix business with reading pleasure. This, for me, was one fine cocktail.

The world of business has been explained a bit, all interspersed with the story, in a simplistic manner that doesn't leave your brain cells scrambled. When the smooth and confident protagonist, Michael Schneider unwittingly gets Woody, a Mafia boss as his client, I was as s...

    Business Doctors - A review

    The Verdict
For a first time author, Business Doctors is a promising book. If you have a bit of management background (even a very basic one), you must pick it up for the single fact that someone has dared to attempt to “fiction-ize” this topic. However if you have absolutely zero interest or experience in management, you may find yourself losing a bit of interest and skipping a few pages. Overall, the best way to describe this book would be:

It is experimental masala fiction peppered with ...
