Description

Business Law by P. C. Tulsian is a teach yourself guide about various Indian business laws and how they can be applied in specific legal situations.

Summary Of The Book

Business Law provides a clean and new approach to understanding the vast area of Business Law. The book covers laws such as Indian Contract Act of 1872, Sale of Goods Act of 1930, The Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881, and the Partnership Act of 1932.

The text encourages a do-it-yourself style of learning. Over time, the book will become a valuable resource. A book such as Business Law is commonplace in countries such as the United States. In their legal service sector, law firms are set up as limited liability corporations or professional partnerships, where each partner takes on the responsibility of developing his own area of expertise such as tax, securities, or litigation. The legal market is competitive by nature. Legal partners are constantly evaluated by their fellow committees of partners, both within the firm and according to billable targets.

Business Law will provide students and legal professionals with a comprehensive review of some key elements in business law. The text contains 18 chapters. Some of the topics that are covered in this book are Contract Essentials, Performance of a Contract, Offer, Bailment and Pledge, Acceptance, Capacities of Parties, Consideration, Contingent Contracts, Free Consent, Void Agreements, Discharge of a Contract, Quasi Contracts, Remedies for Breach of Contract, and Agency Contracts. After acquiring the theory, students will receive an opportunity to practice their understanding of these business concepts through the practical problems, true or false questions, and exercises that are listed at the end of the text. The book also contains two parts of The Negotiable Instrument Act of 1881.

Business Law was published in 2001 by Tata McGraw-Hill Education.
