About Bjarne Stroustrup
Well-known as the man behind the conception and development of the widely used C++ programming language, Bjarne Stroustrup began developing the programming language in 1978. He not only wrote its early definitions, but was also involved in its application and designed all its major facilities.
He has also written other books like Programming, The Annotated C++ Reference Manual, The Design and Evolution of C++, The C++ Standard, and C++ In-Depth Box Set.
Born on the 30th of December 1950, Bjarne Stroustrup is a Danish computer scientist. He is also noted for authoring the first extensive book on the C++ language, The C++ Programming Language. Stroustrup has a Masters degree from Aarhus University, Denmark, and a Ph. D from the University of Cambridge. He currently works at the Texas A&M University in the United States as a Distinguished Professor and holds the College of Engineering Endowed Chair in Computer Science.
