The Canon IXUS compact digital camera  is powered by an NB-9L rechargeable lithium-ion battery which powers the camera for up to 190 shots on a full battery charge. All the images and videos captured by this camera are stored on a Micro SD, Micro SDHC or Micro SDXC memory card .These memory cards can easily be emptied for free space by transferring the recorded  files to a PC or a laptop using a high-speed USB cable or a memory card reader. This process of connecting to a PC or laptop is made easier with the camera’s compatibility with the latest Windows and Mac operating systems.

The continuous mode is another amazing feature that allows the IXUS 500 HS to take a series of shots in very quick succession.
