Warning!! No IS - blurry photos - you will need a tripod - get 55-250 instead.

Only recently i was in the market for a telephoto. And 75-300 and 55-250 were the only ones within my budget. By the look of things you get an extra 50mm ... translated to 80mm in a crop camera like my 500d... and you get it cheaper. While looking at both, the 75-300 even appears more rugged and smart. so why? yes!! IS (image stabiliztion). 55-250 comes with IS while 75-300 does not. Canon lenses are known (and rightly so) because of IS, and here we have one without it.
Even then I went out t...

    Doesn't stabilize images

Lens takes long-distance snaps with high clarity. Zoom equivalent of 300m would be 16.6x. But unfortunately you need a tripod (or a super-human steady hand) along with this product. Otherwise, your images blur - as this lens is not equipped with an image-stabilizer.

Lens is fit with ultra-sonic motor; so auto-focus is near soundless - good feature to have if you're photographing wildlife.

    Worth For Sure

Good in-expensive Zoom Lens, Very smooth focusing. You will be excited when you use it on First Day, second day you may be disappointed, more Practice needed to capture good pics as it doesn't have IS. Use Breathing Techniques & Work with the Good Shutter speed accordingly... F8 is the good aparture point

    No IS

    Hi All,
This lens is good but it has no inbuilt IS (Image Stabilizer)
So in case you are going to use this lens extensively then it you better get a tripod.
If you are looking something close to this in the same price range then you can go for EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II Lens

Good lens but no IS need tripod...

Using the lens for quiet some time. The picture quality is good. But we always has to be careful not to be shaky while taking snap especially when taking distant shots.

There is no IS facility. So tripod is a good to have.

The 70-300 IS is an alternative, comparatively expensive. but it should be a worth buy.

    not recommended

Very soft lens...not good at all. Better go gor 55-250 mm with IS which has much sharper results. Good for learning though.

An amazing buy for the offer price, but IS is a big miss!

It's a great lens for the price which I bought. However, it's good to have Image Stabilization, which would be a great advantage on high zoom shots. A tripod can help to good extend though.

Last but not least, super fast Flipkart delivery (on standard delivery) & carefully packed too!!

BEST DEAL PERFECT FOR OUTDOOR PHOTOS

I received the product, before the expected delivery date. thanks to Flipkart.
Best lens for its price range. The Bokeh effect is better than the 50mm.
doesn't come with an image stabilizer, but you can fix that with high shutter speeds.

On the whole a great lens that every photographer should have.

cons ; not good for night and low light photography

    Got robbed by flipkart..!!!

I wish there was a negative rating system. At-least not for the product, but for flipkart & the seller(WS Retail).
    Product review:
As many have written this doesn't have image stabilizer. Thus pictures are not going to come out clear. Don't buy this for two reasons -
    - If you are new to photography & SLR then there will be camera shake while clicking pictures. So all your hardwork will go waste, as the output will not be worth the effort.
    - If you are not new to photography & SLR, then this...
