Outstanding value

I got this camera (plus kit consisting of 18-55mm lens, Speedlite flash, 4 GB card and DSLR bag) for 21k from Flipkart with 1 day delivery.

Camera came installed with firmware v 2.02 (which addressed the slow AF issues). This is a great alternative to DSLRs with the following advantages

1. Very compact and lightweight
2. Uses same processor (Digic 5) and software/ Touch screen menu, 18 MP as a modern Canon DSLR
3. 18-55 mm kit lens is image stabilized and takes great photos (including grea...

Awesome small camera

Being a user of the previous canon 5d mark II and III, 7d and 60d, I have to say that this little gadget redefines Canon's product line.
The touch screen is superb. I have used touch screen cameras from other companies and this EOS M is nothing short of a surprise.
Compared to Sony Nex 5, which I bought a few years ago, the EOS M has a much better feel to it with a hint of metallic shine.
The focusing is not as fast as the BIG DSLR. However, I can live with it for landscape and more static sh...

Easy to Handle...

As it is a compact piece is is very light than any dslr. It is easy to carry anywhere. The great thing is you can have a dslr feel.

nice but a bit overpriced

this is one beast in world of mirrorless... it has some amazing hardware like very big senor and super fast processor for image processing and really portable body....cool thing is it is compatible with almost all eos lenses of canon.............. only down side is its pricing which i think is a bit high in comparison to nikon j1 ... but if your canon fan its your baby :)

Value for money

I bought this camera almost an year back and since then have used it mainly for landscape photography, and the results have been amazing.
Pros: Light weight, APS-C sensor, free flash light, good battery backup.
Cons: Lens upgrade is very costly in India, firstly they are not available (on flipkart and many other e-comm sites) and also 55-250mm lens costs more than the camera itself. Deducting 1 * for this BIG flaw.
Original Canon lens adapters are also pretty costly, and EOS-M has a very sh...

Good camera

I am not a fan of photography and never want to carry bulky DSLRs with me. For me the good photo quality and ease of handling was most important. Even though the simple digital cameras are handy but they donot match the photo quality of DSLRs. Considering all this, I went for this EOS-M model. I use the camera on Auto mode and the picture quality is awesome. Even though we took the photos in a closed restaurant with low light without flash, the photo quality was amazing. I am happy with the c...

Good Buy

My review is focused mainly on cons that I noticed. However it doesn't mean that camera is useless. ;o)

I moved from Canon SD900 to this camera. EOS-M is a bit heavy (compared to SD900) and it is understandable as it being mirror less version of DSLRs.

At the time of buying I was not aware that the lens should always be attached to camera to take photos or video. This makes it uncomfortable to use it like compact camera.

Low light photography appears to be better than SD900. However SD900 ...

Good camera

Image result is excellent. however it is not as quick as an SLR. Flashlight is good but consumes lot of power like hungry cow! it uses separate batteries which is not convenient.

overall very good for normal use.
