Why is there a shipping charge for this item?

Sellers with Flipkart Assured waive off the delivery charge for Orders over Rs 500. For Orders under Rs 500, a nominal delivery charge is added per item.

Sellers without Flipkart Assured may or may not add a delivery charge to your Order. This is subject to Seller discretion.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Sellers generally procure and ship the items within the time specified on the product page. Business days exclude public holidays and Sundays.

Estimated delivery time depends on the following factors:

      • The Seller offering the product
      • Product's availability with the Seller
      • The destination to which you want the order shipped to and the Seller's location

Why does the delivery date not correspond to the delivery timeline of X-Y business days?

It is possible that the Seller or our courier partners observe a holiday between the day you placed your order and the date of delivery, which is based on the timelines shown on the product page. In this case, we add a day to the estimated date. Some courier partners and Sellers do not work on Sundays and this is factored in to the delivery dates.

What do the different tags like 'In Stock', 'Available' mean?

      'In Stock'

Products‘In Stock’ are readily available with seller.

      'Available'

Products listed as ‘In Stock’ are readily available with seller.

      'Preorder' or 'Forthcoming'

The product is not released yet. You can however ‘book’ an order for this. Shipping happens only after the product launch.

      'Out of Stock'

Currently, the item is not available for sale. Use the 'Notify Me' feature to know once it is available for purchase.

      'Imported'

Sometimes, items have to be sourced by Sellers from outside India. These items are mentioned as 'Imported' on the product page and can take at least 10 days or more to be delivered to you.

      'Back In Stock Soon'

The item is popular and is sold out. You can however 'book' an order for the product and it will be shipped according to the timelines mentioned by the Seller.

      'Temporarily Unavailable'

The product is currently out of stock and is not available for purchase. The product could to be in stock soon. Use the 'Notify Me' feature to know when it is available for purchase.

      'Permanently Discontinued'

This product is no longer available because it is obsolete and/or its production has been discontinued.

      'Out of Print'

This product is not available because it is no longer published and has been permanently discontinued.

Why does the estimated delivery time vary for each seller?

Delivery times are influenced by product availability, geographic location of the Seller, your shipping destination and the courier partner's time-to-deliver to your location.

Please enter your default pin code on the product page to know more accurate delivery times on the product page itself.

Seller does not/cannot ship to my area. Why?

Enter your pincode on the product page to know whether the product can be delivered to your location.

If you haven't provided your pincode until the checkout stage, the pincode in your last used shipping address will be used to check for serviceability.

Whether your location can be serviced or not depends on:

      • Whether the Seller actually ships to your location
      • Legal restrictions, if any, in shipping particular products to your location
      • The availability of reliable courier partners in your location

At times Sellers prefer not to ship to certain locations. This is entirely at their discretion.

    Description

Certificate Physical And Human Geography covers various geographical concepts that are essential for a good understanding of the subject. This book is a good choice for preparing for competitive exams like CSAT.

    Summary Of The Book

Certificate Physical And Human Geography provides coverage of fundamental concepts regarding the earth’s topology, the weather and climate, the different climatic regions, and vegetation across the planet. The book is divided into two parts, Physical Geography, and Weather, Climate and Vegetation. Physical Geography covers the various landforms and coastal regions. The second part covers climate and weather related concepts. Physical Geography begins by examining The Earth and its place in the Universe. It then goes on to explore the Earth’s Crust. Then the book looks at the effects that various natural forces have on the Earth’s surface. The book covers natural phenomena like Volcanoes and Earthquakes. It discusses the Weathering Process, Mass Movement, and Groundwater. It proceeds on to cover different landforms and the forces that shaped them. It looks at Desert Landforms, Landforms Made By Running Water, Limestone and Chalk Landforms, and Landforms of Glaciation. It also examines Coastal Landforms, The Oceans, Lakes, Islands and Coral Reefs.

The Weather, Climate and Vegetation section covers the concepts of Climate and Weather. It then focuses on different weather conditions and climate zones. It discusses the Hot, Wet Equatorial Climate. It also covers the Tropical Monsoon and Tropical Marine Climates. It looks at desert regions like the Hot Desert and Mid-Latitude Desert Climates. It also focuses on The Savanna or Sudan Climate, The Temperate Continental (Steppe) Climate, and The Mediterranean or Warm Temperate Western Margin Climate. Certificate Physical And Human Geography then covers cool climate zones. It discusses the Siberian or Cool Temperate Continental Climate, The Chinese type of climate or Warm Temperate Eastern Margin Climate. The book then focuses on the Laurentian or The Cool Temperate Eastern Margin Climate, the British or Cool Temperate Western Margin Climate and The Arctic or Polar Climate.

This book covers the physical topography of the planet, the landforms and the oceans, rivers and lakes. This comprehensive coverage helps the readers understand the dynamic nature of the planet, and the forces that shape it. It also discusses the vastly different climate conditions that prevail in different geographical parts of the planet. It is a good textbook to help students understand the fundamental concepts of physical geography and the weather and climate. It is also a good preparation material for exams like the Civil Services Preliminaries. The book contains numerous illustrations, maps, diagrams and photographs that complement the text, and each chapter also ends with a questions section to test comprehension of the concepts covered.

    desperate need to UPDATE!!

Though its a 2012 reprint bt the edition is of the 70's.One can for once overlook the fact that its no longer BOMBAY n MADRAS but its distressing to see that PLUTO is still considered the 9th planet and USSR is still a country..such handiwork is not expected from 'THE' OXFORD PRESS!
However its quite lucid for understanding basics of physical geography. One may find several unnecessary chapters in terms of preparation fr UPSC but its worth a shot if one is a fresher!

Google would be best than this book , Very much out Dated

As one user said in december 2011 , the pluto has been referred as ninth planet . but i m writing this in december 2012 still it is not updated that means there is no updated versions available .

( IAU in 2006( 6 yrs back and still the book is out of date ) passed resolutions which defined planets , dwarf planets and other celestial bodies distinctly . with respect to that resolutions , pluto has been assigned or represented as DWARF PLANET )

i guess school books would provide much update...

    Made for UPSC aspirants

UPSC aspirants simply go for it without it. The basic static concepts are explained very good here. Love the diagrammatic explanations. This of course won't be enough but would give you a good base. Supplement this book with some high course material
