Soul stirring

Imagine yourself without a worry in the world - sitting on your balcony with a cup of team, overlooking the rains, feeling the wet breeze on your face and the cool air working its magic on your entire self.

If you liked the imagery and felt something stirring inside you, then this book is written for you.

Reading it is an experience that stays with you. I imagine myself picking this book again and again - sometimes reading parts, sometimes in full. Recommend, recommend, recommend.

The Rain Symphony

I have no words to describe about this book. Yes! I can express it if you also with a warm sip of coffee, enjoy the rain and reading every lines of it.
This is a masterpiece work from Alexander Frater. Its really thrilling when reading those lines described here.
I loved reading while travelling through monsoon.
I highly recommend this book, even if one feels boring during first few pages (coz, that infactuation had also haunted me..!).

Phenomenon

The book describes the writers two separate (or is it three?) journeys through India, following the onset of monsoon, terminating at Cherapunji. Although not in the class of Orwell or Rushdie, using a bit of imagination, a reader can actually travel with the writer across rain soaked landscapes, filling the lung with the earthy fragrance of soil after a downpour.

An exciting look at India through a different lens

a very interesting read. The author follows the monsoon as it spreads across India. He focuses on how the monsoon changes the color, mood, of the land as it arrives. He also does touch upon the India bureaucracy he needs to tackle to visit Cherranpnji.
