Summary of the Book
A young woman, Vianne Rocher, has just arrived in a strange town and cannot help but feel a little alien. The people here seem dull and it doesn't really suit the kind of people she and her daughter are. However, she finds a way to, slowly and steadily, bring warmth and happiness to the hearts of the people with one precious ingredient - Cocoa. She even manages to turn the lives of some unhappy women around her and gets help to organize the most delicious and sinful chocolate festival in the French town. Joanne Harris is the author of the award-winning novel Chocolat. The novel was later adapted into a film of the same name. The British author began writing when she was very young and was influenced by Grimm’s Fairy Tales and the tales of Charles Perrault.
