nitially, he worked as an assistant director to K.Rajeswar in Nyaya Tharasu and Idhaya Thamarai. Afterhe assisted Pavithran in Vasanthakala paravai and Suriyan. When he was associate director to Shankar in Gentleman and Khadhalan, during the shooting of the film Kadhalan, the producer G.K.Reddy approached him to direct a film, in middle of 1994 , he made his directional debut through Mahaprabhu starring R.Sarathkumar, Sukanya, Goundamani and Senthil. The movie was released February 1996.
