This book is really good. I recommend heartfully to buy and read this book. Those who don't have the patience to read a novel can read these short stories. There are many short which are really great. The stories like the "Pikoo's Diary", The life of Sadananda", "Fotikchand" are excellent and memorable and they take you into their world. I have read short stories of all genres of different authors.
But such simplicity of language and gripping writing style is rarely seen.

It is a wonder that such a book has never been publicised.

Great book but font size is too small.

Ray is master storyteller of his own style.

A terrific collection of 49 short stories from the classic story teller. Stories ranging from fantasy and science fiction to some very comic gems this collection has something for everyone. Truly a must read.

Superb....

I had read a story or two written by Satyajit Ray in high school. This volume which contains some of the author's best stories is sure to take the reader back to the thriving and rustic days of post independence Bengal. A must read for any connoisseur of Indian literature.

I have allways read Satyajit Ray in bengali. This is the first time reading it in Emglish. Nice collection of stories. The translator has maintained the emotion of the stories. Names (Fotik) and all are a little funny to read in english. Nice read overall!
