this is one of the few best books on shell scripting, having taught the scripting in a precise broader picture covering the Unix OS itself rather than a receipe quick fix kind. For the ppl who're from non -IT background, this book is a treasure trove.

Author of the book has superb command on English language to make it understandable for everyone in the wide spectrum from students to experienced IT professionals. Narration is precise and covers details required for writing good shell scripts. First six chapters do cover most of the things needed and remaining book covers practical solutions and perspective to look at the problem from view of a script writer. Though the price for this book varies at different resources on the internet, but none the less, this book is full of contents in which one is always interested in.
The best thing about the Layout of the book is the usage of the Commands in the Tabular format, so that it's easy to keep track of them, while searching them in future. Everything is neatly described.
If I can give numbers to this out of 10, then my choice is 8, minus two just for the high price it has.
