  • Description

Coding Interview Questions by Narasimha Karumanchi is a book that presents interview question and design patterns in simple and straightforward manner with a clear-cut explanation. This book will provide an introduction to the basics. It comes handy as an interview and exam guide for computer scientists.

This book assumes you have some basic knowledge about computer science. Main objective of the book is not to present you all the interview questions. I have followed a pattern of improving the problem solutions with different complexities (for each problem, you observe multiple solutions with different improved complexities in data structure and algorithmic problems). Basically, it is an enumeration of possible solutions. With this approach, even if we get a new question it gives us a way to think about all possible solutions. For all other topics, it will act as refreshment. This book is very much useful for interview preparation, competitive exams preparation and campus preparations.

As a job seeker if you read complete book with good understanding, I am sure you will challenge the interviewers and that is the objective of this book.

This book is very much useful for the students of Engineering Degree and Masters during their academic preparations. All the chapters of this book contain theory and their related problems as many as possible. If you read as a student preparing for competition exams for Computer Science/Information Technology], the content of this book covers all the required topics in full details. While writing the book, an intense care has been taken to help students who are preparing for these kinds of exams.

In most the chapters you will see more importance given to problems and analyzing them instead of concentrating more on theory. For each chapter, first you will see the basic required theory and then followed by problems.

For many of the problems, multiple solutions are provided with different complexities. We start with brute force solution and slowly move towards the best solution possible for that problem. For each problem we will try to understand how much time the algorithm is taking and how much memory the algorithm is taking.

    Useful for Campus Placements

I am studying final year of Comp Sci. Engineering at one of prestigious colleges in north India.

I was looking for some campus preparation books for Google, Microsoft, Amazon kind of companies.

I purchased this book along with Cracking the code book. Both were really good.

This book concentrates more on technical questions. Whereas Cracking the code book concentrates more on how to prepare resume, how to approach companies etc..

This is really a fantastic book among the ones I studied so ...

Good work book for placement preparation

I must appreciate the author efforts in collecting questions and preparing elaborated solutions to all the questions.

A professional may feel that the explanations are prolonged. It may be required for students.

Whether you are a professional or student, keep the book as a work book. Don't rush to glance at solution. Sincerely attempt questions, and compare your answers with those given in the book. Practice every solution on a piece of paper and approach compiler.

    Pros:
    Plenty of collecti...

Has good questions but also a lot of errors

Every topic has first a conceptual review and then a lot of problems with solutions.

The book has a lot of good questions. But it is not reliable in terms of accuracy in its study material and solutions to its questions. There are multiple typographic and syntactical errors. At some places there are even programmatical errors. It can only be used as a large practice question bank. Its conceptual matter should not be studied without first going through a good reference book like CLR (Cormen e...

    Nice book for Placements Preparation

Nice book. Lots of worked out problems. Multiple non-trivial, tricky solutions. Although the book has quite a couple of mistakes here and there, nevertheless they can be easily spotted and fixed. A recommended book for placements preparation.
Last but not the least Excellent delivery service from Flipkart. Got it delivered in one day. Kudos Flipkart.

    Incoherent and complex

Chapters are not in an order ,author seems to have crammed in topics randomly , minimal explanation on topics ,no theory given - assumes reader already has decent knowledge on algorithms and their analysis ,dives right into problems.Dont consider buying it if you dont have a good understanding of algorithms already .If u do have a good knowledge on the subject & looking for book of problems then u might find it useful

Best book for Placement in good IT company.

This is the best book for one who has a basic idea of c language.
Each question has special weightage, Questions are arranged in level of difficulty order and multiple solutions are available for one question with improved efficiency that helps in interview.
If one doesn't have any idea about Data Structure then this book is enough to get deep knowledge about Data Structure and Algorithms.
