This is a story about five young women who are struggling to find their lives in the city of Mumbai.

Summary of the Book

Cold Feet is a story about five women who are dealing with love in their own way. While some people have found themselves by running away, some have found themselves in places they weren’t looking in. Many find themselves after losing themselves. Amisha feels that she has found the perfect man for herself. Just when she decides that she is going to marry him, she finds the need to push boundaries. Akshara loves her best friend and hopes to take things further with him. She soon realizes that he may be able to give her benefits, but will never give her what she really needs: his love. Ladli runs away after experiencing a heart break, but ends up finding love again. The man that Shayna wants has none of the qualities that she expects in a man. A girl who wants Shayna is only looking out for a friend. This is the story of five women whose lives are entwined.

Cold Read

The threads are all there..If only some one had taken an effort to weave them into a fabric!
This book left me confused way before I cruised through the first 30 pages..Just what was I reading?A first draft the author had penned as a writing exercise?

I particularly liked the friends with benefits story that refreshingly didn't go to a "happy" place. The loner in the choke full city going on a late night walk and connecting with the in-animate..that was a poignant touch.

There are bits of th...

perfect company on your recharge retreat

Feel it on your skin, run it in your blood. Escape, discover, flirt, hide, prepare and enjoy the 5 faces of yours. Warm up the cold feet in the Bombay heat and Goan beach sand. Delicate vocabulary and effortless style. Her characters will stay with you. I love the silent slam of the very very end. It echoed for a long time in my mind, in the space that is mine now and I can do anything in it.

I have read all the three published books from Meenakshi and will read probably the next one too. S...

A Good , light read

I loved the author’s debut novel ” You are here”. It was peppy and full of references that totally made sense to me at that point of my life. And surprisingly it still is an awesome read. So I bought “Cold feet” with the same expectation.

It is not a bad novel. But it is not amazing. It is well written, well defined… and the stories are well connected. But there’s something amiss. After a while it becomes stereotypical and cliched. After a while you lose interest in the story and the final f...

Easy breezy reading

Cold feet by Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan makes for lighthearted, easy reading. The writing is honest but the quality is average. My main gripe is that all even though each of the central characters have different things going on, I very often found them to be very similar and actually one single woman.

Good book to read while chilling out.
